The Miami football program will learn the college destination of two of their biggest sought-after recruits in the 2023 class on Saturday. Four-star safety Zaquan Patterson will announce his commitment at 12:05 Eastern time and five-star defensive tackle David Stone will declare his choice at 1:00 PM.

Paterson is the 77th prospect, third safety and 10th player in Florida out of Chaminde-Madonna. Five-star wide Joshisa Trader who is the highest-ranked commit in the 2024 class is also out of Chaminade-Madonna. There are extremely conflicting projections on which program will receive a commitment from Patterson.

The Miami football program is a heavy favorite for a commitment from Patterson per On3 and Rivals. Steve Wiltfong the Director Of Recruiting for 247 Sports stated he likes the way that the recruitment of Patterson is set up for Florida State. No 247 Sports crystal ball has been logged for Patterson yet.

Wiltfong is extremely successful once he makes a crystal ball. The 247 Sports ratings list Wiltfong with a 91.59 success rate in his 2024 crystal balls and all-time. The On3 Recruiting Prediction lists Miami with a 91.3 percent chance for a commitment from Patterson. Rivals gives Miami a 100 percent chance for Patterson.

There are three 247 Sports crystal balls logged for Stone to Oklahoma and two to Michigan State. All five of the crystal balls were logged last year. On3 projects Oklahoma as the overwhelming favorite for Stone with a 79.1 percent chance for a commitment. Michigan State is second at 15.4 percent.

Stone told Wiltfong that Miami is the favorite place of his family and his favorite thing about the Hurricanes is the coaching staff. Defensive line coach Jason Taylor has made a huge impact in recruiting since becoming a full-time assistant during the offseason. Wiltfong gave Oklahoma a crystal ball for Stone in March of 2022.

In his article updating the recruitment of Stone, Wiltfong did not provide current news about which program the five-star defensive tackle could be leaning towards. Miami currently has the 15th-ranked 2024 recruiting class. A commitment from Stone would move Miami past Auburn and Clemson up to 13th nationally.

A commitment solely from Patterson would move Miami past Auburn up to 14th. Commitments from Patterson and Stone would vault the 2024 Miami recruiting class up to seventh. Stone would be the fifth defensive lineman and fourth blue-chip DL in the 2024 Miami class. Patterson would be the fourth safety in the 2024 Miami class.
