Best Spas Sydney: Slow House, Sol Spa, Chi & More

If you don’t have the funds or annual leave banked up to take a holiday, the next best way to rejuvenate yourself is at a day spa. Fortunately, if you’re in Sydney or heading to the Harbour City to visit, when it comes to spas, you’re spoilt for choice. You’ll find great options in nearly every suburb.

From a spa in Bondi with Scandi-meets-Moroccan-style interiors, to a spot with glistening Darling Harbour views and another in the city that’ll instantly chill you out with its moody lighting, these are some of the best spas in Sydney that’ll bliss you right out.

Open this year, Remedi Room is part of Slow House on Bondi’s Curlewis Street. Here, you can spend an entire morning or afternoon, pampering yourself with a sauna and ice bath, followed by a massage, facial or treatment. Finish your session with a cup of herbal tea in the Scandi-meets-Moroccan-style front lounge room.

Did you know MECCA offers facials in its store too? Though you might not think a busy beauty store is the most relaxing of environments, you’d be surprised how easy it is to slip into calm. The newest offering is a FaceGym facial range that’ll see you tilted back in a comfy chair before your face is given a full massage. Not only will you leave looking more sculpted, but your face tension will likely be all gone, too.

Chi, The Spa is the spa within Shangri-La Sydney in The Rocks. Though all treatments here are based on traditional wellness practices of Asian cultures, they also incorporate Australian healing techniques and local botanical ingredients. After your treatment, you’re offered a tea in a dimly-lit room with soothing music, which you can sip before you use the spa’s pool and jacuzzi.

Endota Spas have over 100 locations around the country, so if you find a treatment you like, you almost certainly can book it in another city when you’re travelling, too. The spas offer individual treatments or spa packages that range from 75 minutes, to 225. After you’ve finished, you can shop the products that were used on you during your treatment.

Opened in April this year, Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour Spa runs across two levels and is tucked behind specially-built wooden doors. It offers body therapies, facials and, for a real treat, a five-hour wellness journey. A holistic spa experience, it includes a body treatment, massage, facial, healthy lunch and access to the hotel’s infinity pool, which looks out over Darling Harbour.

Arrive early at Sol Spa Vaucluse to relax before your facial, massage or body treatment. You’ll be served herbal tea that you can sip on as you admire the spa’s lush garden surrounds. Book the spa’s Native Botanical facial that uses Indigenous Australian botanicals, or its five-hour Ultimate Sol Spa Signature Package, which includes a nourishing meal and glass of sparkling.

Inglis Day Spa can be found on the top level of The William Inglis Hotel in Warwick Farm, a 40-minute drive southwest of the city centre. Bond with your partner during an Urban Release couple’s ritual. Or come alone for a 150-minute Crystal Healing treatment, which includes a hot-stone massage, facial and head massage.

Self by The Parlour Room in Eastern Suburbs beach Clovelly offers treatments and services that look after not just your skin and body, but your mind, too. Treatments include facials and massages, while experiences incorporate a few treatments in one-go and can last up to three hours.
